  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • Assorted chocolate truffles
  • Colorful sprinkles for decoration
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together flour and baking powder.
  6. Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  7. Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow cakes to cool completely on wire racks.
  9. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form to make whipped cream.
  10. Assemble the dessert table by slicing the cakes and displaying them on platters alongside fresh strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream, chocolate truffles, and sprinkles.
  11. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a touch of color and freshness.
