Teriyaki Salmon

Teriyaki Salmon features tender, flaky salmon glazed with a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce, perfect for a quick and delicious dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic to make the teriyaki sauce.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the salmon fillets skin side down and cook for 4–5 minutes until the skin is crisp.
  3. Flip the salmon and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce into the skillet, allowing it to simmer and coat the salmon. If a thicker sauce is desired, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat when salmon is cooked through and the sauce is glossy.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Serve the Teriyaki Salmon over steamed rice or alongside sautéed vegetables for a balanced meal.
