Peach Cobbler

A classic Southern dessert featuring tender baked peaches topped with a buttery, golden biscuit crust that’s perfect for any occasion.

  • 6 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss gently and set aside.
  3. Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined to form the batter.
  6. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish; do not stir.
  7. Carefully spoon the peach mixture over the batter; do not stir.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
