Limoncello Tiramisu

Limoncello Tiramisu is a refreshing twist on the classic Italian dessert, combining zesty lemon flavors with creamy mascarpone for a bright and delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Limoncello liqueur
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 package (7 oz) ladyfinger cookies
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • Fresh lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until pale and creamy.
  2. Fold mascarpone cheese into the egg mixture until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks and gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Pour limoncello into a shallow dish. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the limoncello, making sure not to soak them.
  5. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of your serving dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.
  7. Sprinkle half of the lemon zest over the cream layer.
  8. Repeat with another layer of limoncello-soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  9. Top with the remaining lemon zest and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  10. Garnish with fresh lemon slices and mint leaves before serving, if desired.

Notes

For an extra lemony kick, drizzle a little limoncello over the top layer before serving or substitute limoncello with lemon juice mixed with simple syrup for a non-alcoholic version.
