Delight in these festive King Cake Bites, miniature versions of the classic Mardi Gras treat, featuring a tender, cinnamon-spiced dough coated with vibrant colored sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup colored sanding sugar (purple, green, and gold)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans together.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. Brush each triangle with melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over each piece.
  4. Roll up each triangle from the wide end to the point, then cut into 1-inch bite-sized pieces.
  5. Place the bites cut side up on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. While baking, mix the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to make a glaze.
  7. Once baked, brush the warm bites with glaze, then sprinkle with the colored sanding sugar in the traditional Mardi Gras colors.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your festive King Cake Bites!

Notes

For extra fun, hide a tiny plastic baby figurine inside one of the bites before baking to follow the traditional King Cake custom.
