Homemade Fresh Squeezed Lemonade

Refreshing and all-natural homemade lemonade made with freshly squeezed lemons, perfect for a cooling summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and fresh mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved to make a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the cooled simple syrup.
  3. Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir well to combine.
  4. Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness by adding more water or lemon juice if needed.
  5. Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes before serving to chill thoroughly.
  6. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint if desired.

Notes

For an extra refreshing twist, add a few sprigs of fresh mint or a splash of sparkling water before serving.
