Cottage Cheese and Herb Biscuits

Fluffy and flavorful, these Cottage Cheese and Herb Biscuits combine creamy cottage cheese with fresh herbs for a savory twist on a classic biscuit.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fingers until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine cottage cheese, buttermilk, and fresh herbs.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently pat into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
  7. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, brush the tops with melted garlic herb butter right after baking.
