Banana Bread

This classic banana bread is moist, naturally sweetened, and perfect for breakfast or a snack. Easy to bake and loaded with ripe bananas, it’s a comforting treat for all ages.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter.
  3. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then gently fold in the flour until just combined.
  5. Stir in walnuts if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of cinnamon or substitute walnuts with chocolate chips. Serve warm with a pat of butter or cream cheese.
