Blueberry Crisp

A warm, comforting blueberry crisp with a sweet, crunchy oat topping perfect for any dessert occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh blueberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for filling)
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss blueberries with sugar, lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons flour. Transfer to a greased 8×8-inch baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine oats, 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in melted butter until mixture is crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the blueberries.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For extra crunch, add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts to the topping mixture before baking.
