Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub this spice mixture all over the chicken thighs, making sure to coat evenly.
  4. Place the chicken thighs skin-side up on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
  5. Bake the chicken for 25 minutes, then remove from oven.
  6. Brush the BBQ sauce evenly over each thigh; if desired, drizzle with honey for added sweetness.
  7. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the sauce is caramelized.
  8. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra smoky flavor, try using a smoked BBQ sauce or add a dash of liquid smoke to the sauce before baking.
