Asian Sesame Slaw

A refreshing and crunchy Asian Sesame Slaw packed with vibrant vegetables and a savory sesame dressing, perfect as a side or light meal.

  • 4 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 2 cups shredded red cabbage
  • 1 large carrot, julienned
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Optional: 1 tsp Sriracha or chili flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded green cabbage, red cabbage, carrot, red bell pepper, green onions, and cilantro.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, honey, grated ginger, garlic, and Sriracha if using.
  3. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss well until evenly coated.
  4. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top and toss lightly.
  5. Let the slaw sit for at least 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

For extra crunch and protein, add chopped roasted peanuts or sliced almonds before serving.
