Valentines Dinner

Celebrate love with this elegant Valentine’s Dinner featuring a tender herb-crusted steak paired with garlic butter asparagus and a decadent chocolate mousse dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks (8 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Rub steaks with olive oil, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear steaks 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  4. Transfer steaks to oven and cook for 5-7 minutes for medium-rare.
  5. While steaks bake, melt 1 tbsp butter in a pan and sauté garlic for 1 minute.
  6. Add asparagus and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. For chocolate mousse, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  8. Gently fold melted chocolate into whipped cream until combined.
  9. Chill mousse in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve steaks with garlic asparagus and finish with chocolate mousse for dessert.

Notes

For an extra special touch, pair this dinner with a glass of your favorite red wine and garnish the mousse with fresh raspberries.
