Tomato Garlic Pasta

A simple and flavorful Tomato Garlic Pasta featuring fresh tomatoes and fragrant garlic, perfect for a quick and healthy Italian-inspired meal.

  • 8 oz spaghetti pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 large ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes and red pepper flakes, cook for 5-6 minutes until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Turn off the heat and stir in the cooked pasta, tossing well to combine with the sauce.
  6. Mix in fresh basil leaves and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

For extra richness, add a splash of pasta cooking water or a teaspoon of butter when mixing the pasta with the sauce.
