Steak with Garlic Cream Sauce

A tender steak served with a rich and flavorful garlic cream sauce, perfect for an elegant dinner that’s easy to prepare at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ribeye steaks (about 8 oz each)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the steaks generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add steaks to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove steaks from skillet and set aside to rest.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with garlic and butter. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and thyme leaves, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Return steaks to the skillet, spooning the garlic cream sauce over them to coat well.
  8. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try adding a splash of white wine to the sauce before simmering or serve with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes.
