Spicy Wontons in Chilli Sauce

Deliciously crispy wontons filled with a spicy pork mixture, served in a vibrant homemade chilli sauce that perfectly balances heat and flavor.

  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 250g ground pork
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 egg (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • For the chilli sauce:
  • 3 tablespoons chili paste
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, minced garlic, grated ginger, green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  2. Place a teaspoon of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  3. Brush the edges with beaten egg, fold, and seal tightly to form wontons.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat and fry wontons until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Prepare the chilli sauce by mixing chili paste, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a bowl.
  6. Serve hot wontons drizzled with the chilli sauce or use it as a dipping sauce.

Notes

For an extra kick, sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro or crushed peanuts on top before serving.
