Spicy Gochujang Eggs are a flavorful Korean-inspired dish featuring fried eggs topped with a spicy and savory gochujang sauce, perfect for a quick breakfast or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and minced garlic to create the spicy sauce.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Crack the eggs into the pan and cook until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Carefully flip the eggs and cook for an additional 30 seconds if you prefer slightly firmer yolks (optional).
  5. Remove eggs from the skillet and plate them.
  6. Drizzle the gochujang sauce over the eggs evenly.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
  8. Serve immediately, ideally with steamed rice or toasted bread.

Notes

For an added boost of flavor, top with kimchi or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes. Serve with steamed rice for a complete meal.
