Short Rib Sliders with Balsamic Cranberry Sauce

These Short Rib Sliders with Balsamic Cranberry Sauce combine tender, slow-cooked beef with a tangy, sweet sauce, perfect for an elegant appetizer or comforting snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef short ribs
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
  • 12 small slider buns
  • Butter, for toasting buns
  • Fresh arugula or baby spinach (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Season short ribs with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe pot over medium-high heat and brown the ribs on all sides.
  4. Remove ribs and sauté onion and garlic until softened.
  5. Add beef broth, balsamic vinegar, and cranberry sauce to the pot; stir well to combine.
  6. Return short ribs to the pot, cover, and transfer to the oven.
  7. Braise for 3 hours or until meat is tender and falls off the bone.
  8. Remove ribs and shred the meat, discarding bones.
  9. Toast slider buns with butter until golden.
  10. Assemble sliders by layering shredded short rib meat and a spoonful of warm balsamic cranberry sauce on each bun; add arugula if desired.
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

For extra tang, add a slice of sharp cheddar cheese to each slider before serving.
