Salted Caramel Cookies

Delight in these soft, chewy Salted Caramel Cookies that combine rich caramel flavor with a hint of sea salt for the perfect sweet and savory treat.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel bits or chopped caramel candies
  • Sea salt flakes, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the caramel bits evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle a small pinch of sea salt flakes on top of each cookie.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For extra gooey caramel centers, press a soft caramel candy into the center of each cookie dough ball before baking.
