  • For the Glaze:
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  4. In a small bowl, combine buttermilk and vinegar.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Beat until just combined.
  6. For the cream cheese filling, in a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  7. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared bundt pan. Spoon the cream cheese filling evenly over the batter. Pour the remaining cake batter over the cream cheese filling.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. For the glaze, in a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Gradually add milk until desired consistency is reached.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
