Mushroom Gruyere Pasta

Freshly Prepared Mushroom Gruyere Pasta

A creamy and savory Mushroom Gruyere Pasta that combines tender mushrooms with melted Gruyere cheese for a comforting and flavorful Italian-inspired meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or linguine)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cups mushrooms, sliced (cremini or button)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until golden and their moisture evaporates, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in white wine, if using, and let it reduce by half, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream, allowing it to simmer gently for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add grated Gruyere and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  7. Season with salt, black pepper, and fresh thyme leaves.
  8. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce to coat evenly.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For extra richness, add a sprinkle of toasted pine nuts before serving or serve with a side of crusty garlic bread.
