Honey Glazed Carrots Green Beans

Delight in tender green beans and sweet carrots glazed with a luscious honey sauce, perfect as a vibrant and healthy side dish for any meal.

  • 1/2 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1/2 lb carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and sliced carrots and blanch for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  2. Drain and immediately transfer vegetables to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking. Drain again and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted and bubbling.
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the green beans and carrots to the skillet and toss to coat in the butter and garlic.
  6. Drizzle honey over the vegetables and stir gently to glaze them evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until vegetables are heated through and well coated.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve warm.

Notes

For a nutty twist, sprinkle toasted sliced almonds over the dish before serving.
