Ground Beef Bulgogi is a flavorful Korean-inspired dish featuring savory marinated ground beef cooked to perfection, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and gochugaru if using.
  2. Add the ground beef and sliced onion to the marinade and mix thoroughly to coat evenly. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes to absorb flavors.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef mixture and cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
  4. Stir in chopped green onions and cook for another minute.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top before serving.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice, lettuce wraps, or your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, marinate the beef for up to 1 hour. Serve with kimchi and steamed rice for an authentic Korean meal experience.
