Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
  6. Add green food coloring and mix until the dough is evenly tinted bright green.
  7. Shape dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat thoroughly.
  8. Place coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cookies puff up and the crinkles appear on the surface.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
