Coquito Puerto Rican Coconut

Coquito is a creamy Puerto Rican coconut-based holiday drink that blends coconut milk, rum, and warm spices for a rich, festive treat.

  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (15 oz) cream of coconut
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
  • 1 cup white rum
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Ground cinnamon, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, cream of coconut, and coconut milk. Blend until smooth.
  2. Add the white rum, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves to the blender. Blend again until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Pour the mixture into a large glass bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to let the flavors meld and the drink to chill.
  5. Before serving, shake the bottle well. Serve chilled in small glasses.
  6. Garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon if desired.

Notes

For an extra creamy Coquito, add a splash of sweetened condensed milk before serving or top with a cinnamon stick for garnish.
