Chocolate Mint Pie

This rich and refreshing Chocolate Mint Pie combines creamy chocolate filling with a cool minty twist, perfect for a delightful dessert treat.

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 6 oz semisweet chocolate, melted and cooled
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • Chocolate shavings or mint leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix chocolate cookie crumbs with melted butter until combined.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish to form the crust.
  3. Bake the crust for 8 minutes, then let it cool completely.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and peppermint extract and mix well.
  5. Fold in the melted chocolate until evenly combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks and gently fold it into the chocolate mixture.
  7. Pour the filling into the cooled crust and smooth the top.
  8. Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or until set.
  9. Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings or mint leaves.

Notes

For a stronger mint flavor, add an extra 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract or garnish with crushed candy canes during the holidays.
