Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green onion, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef broth, brown sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes. Remove beef and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add remaining tablespoon of oil. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 4–5 minutes until crisp-tender.
  5. Return beef to the pan. Pour the sauce mixture over beef and broccoli. Stir well to coat and cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions if desired, and serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef in half the soy sauce mixture for 30 minutes before cooking, and adjust sauce thickness by adding more cornstarch slurry if needed.
