Chicken Kofta Meatballs

Deliciously spiced Chicken Kofta Meatballs offer a flavorful twist on traditional meatballs, perfect for an easy dinner or appetizer.

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the beaten egg and breadcrumbs, mixing gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook meatballs in batches, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Remove meatballs and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce or over rice or flatbread.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, serve with a side of cool cucumber yogurt sauce or chutney.
