A rich and creamy Alfredo sauce made with butter, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese, perfect for enhancing your favorite pasta dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
  4. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
  5. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley if desired.
  7. Toss the sauce with cooked pasta and serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream or add a splash of pasta cooking water to adjust consistency.
